Internship Opportunities
Advocacy
Assess safety of clients, connect clients to appropriate and available resources, complete victim intake, and more.
ADVANCE
Work with CPS-referred victimized parents by supporting ADVANCE educators in and outside of class, maintain records, build curriculum, and more.
Adult Counseling
Opportunity to work with trauma survivors and/or abusers. Opportunity to tailor internship to meet own interests and gain diversity in experience.
BIPP Advocate
Contact and advocate for victim partner, determine appropriate services, complete referrals. Attend BIPP group sessions and more.
BIPP Facilitator
Facilitate groups for perpetrators of intimate partner violence, attend individual and group supervision, conduct weekly orientation/intake session. Maintain client files and records, and more.
Child Hope Advocacy
This internship is split between our Camp Hope & Child Shelter Advocacy departments. Child Hope Advocacy interns will assist in the coordination and execution of Camp Hope and Pathways events, assist in the recruitment of volunteers and establishing community partnerships, work closely with shelter clients and assist with case management and school enrollment, plan weekly activities for shelter kids, maintain client records and appropriate documentation of services, and provide childcare as needed to Outreach, Shelter, and Savannah locations.
Community Engagement
Assist with outreach efforts to the Denton County community and criminal justice system. Assist in preparing, observing, and completing presentations/trainings and more.
Homeschool Enrichment Program
Our Homeschool Enrichment Program Intern is housing out of our Exploirum Children’s Museum & aids in the management planning & facilitating of our weekly homeschool enrichment days as well as our “Drop-Off” Programs (such as parent’s night out, etc.). This intern will work closely with the Assistant Museum Manager to create learning experiences for homeschooled children who attend our enrichment program.
Marketing & Development
Assist with volunteer and in-kind donations database, assist in the planning of special events and fundraisers. Assist with donor care.
Non-profit Operations
This internship involves administrative assignments, preparing and writing grant documents, researching issues, preparing reports, communicating with donors and supporters, and assisting with promotional work for fundraising and community outreach events. The intern will report to and shadow the Executive Director.
Play Therapy
Opportunity to work with children and adolescent who have been impacted by Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault through play therapy.
Survivor Advocacy Team
Interns will be responding to SAT calls, conduct intakes, provide crisis intervention, assist in paperwork, and more.
Shelter Advocacy
Advocate on client’s behalf, attend court proceedings with clients, assist in answering the crisis line, and completing shelter intakes.
Transitional Housing
Focus on assessing the safety of clients, helping address housing needs, connect clients to appropriate and available resources and more.
