Expedition Hope: Building Denton County’s Family Justice Center
A journey toward safety, healing, and hope.
Construction is underway on Denton County’s first Family Justice Center, a trauma-informed, collaborative campus where survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault will be able to access critical services in one place.
Expedition Hope is the community-wide journey to make that vision a reality.
Made possible through the extraordinary generosity of the Rayzor Family and significant support from Denton County, the City of Denton, the City of Lewisville, and community partners and donors, the Family Justice Center represents a new way of serving survivors across Denton County.
And now, we are building it.
Hope is Taking Shape
Phase 1 construction began in 2026 and is bringing the first major pieces of the Family Justice Center campus to life.
Phase 1A: Site Development
Site infrastructure and development work are underway, preparing the campus for the facilities and services that will follow.
Phase 1B: Emergency Housing, Kitchen, Dining & Services
The next stage will expand emergency housing capacity and create spaces designed around safety, dignity, nourishment, normalcy, and community.
When complete, the Family Justice Center will bring services and partners together so survivors can spend less time navigating systems and more time moving toward safety and stability.
Survivors Need a Place Where Help Comes Together
Today, survivors may have to navigate multiple agencies, appointments, locations, and systems while experiencing one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
The Family Justice Center is being designed to change that.
Here, survivors will be able to connect with advocacy, emergency shelter, counseling, legal assistance, law enforcement partners, and other community resources through a coordinated, survivor-centered approach.
